nheuser-Busch InBev is a Belgian-Brazilian multinational beverage and brewing company. It’s the world’s largest brewer

and has a 25% global market share. They purchased and rolled out SAP HR to approximately 100,000 users in 25 countries. To increase adoption and engagement of their monthly Target Monitoring phase.

They recognized that using SAP was a major cultural change and users would need to be encouraged to ensure the best participation and usage with the new tool. AbinBev needed to Introduce a standard process for target setting and monitoring. Whilst parts of the business had a mature process for setting and tracking targets, the frequency and quality of processes was variable between business zones. To overcome this challenge, they acknowledged success would be measured not by simple compliant use of the tool but how it helped to transform the way targets were set and then monitored.

Delivering adoption is not simple to achieve as it requires all involved to understand the processes, how to use the tools effectively and then to interpret the outcomes. This is further complicated in AB InBev due to its global diversity of both language and cultures.

We invited the Zone TSC leaders for a workshop to discuss how to implement Tracking & Monitoring and how we

would measure success. From this, we created high impact, on-demand content that provided communication and education around process completion. AB InBev were able to measure usage of the system and its associated impact on performance, whilst advising where improvements could be made.

Once launched, use of the content was monitored so that success could be celebrated, or a lack of engagement identified, early evidence-based steps could be taken by both leaders and local HR teams. This combination of reward and evidence-based follow-up has ensured that all involved are focused on sustainable success.

Since launching the AppLearn solution, over 9,000 minutes of tutorials have been watched, at the point when tasks were needed to be completed. These tutorials

launched from directly inside the SAP HR tool. Over 4000 employees and managers have been trained on why the target setting & monitoring process is required, what the processes are and how to complete them successfully – all with-out leaving their desks. This has reduced cost, increased productivity and alignment across the business, all whilst reducing AB InBev’s carbon footprint and travel-for-training budget.
