What do the candidates think about that? Since the creation of WIDaF test (1996), the test has always been taken on paper. What is WIDaF? A certification aiming at non-German speaking people proving they have a professional level of proficiency in German. It is considered as THE reference in German language tests in a professional environment. WIDaF is a 150-questions-MCQ about grammar, lexical knowledge of the professional environment, a reading comprehension test and an oral comprehension test. Questions are based on an economic vocabulary. WIDaF is taken by thousands of candidates and it is divided into 8 sessions taking place throughout the year. “AAfter several years, we wanted to adapt the test so that the administrative side becomes simpler to manage and so that the test becomes more comfortable for candidates.” “Before we had 2 weeks to send the results, now it is done under 5 days.” “Oral expression, which is a mandatory test in the WIDaF exam, is our next step with TestWe. We will now integrate a system of microphones to record and evaluate candidates.” Candidates take their test on the laptops of the Chamber of Trade on which the TestWe app is already installed. AHK decided to work with TestWe, because it ensures a maximum level of security and gives the opportunity to get results and send them to the candidates quickly. Security was the main focus and with the automation of grading, AHK was able to reduce their costs and optimize their process. With this digital transformation, we now have an adaptive test, “we can now integrate any kind of multimedia in our tests which is really helpful”, affirms the Director of Formation. According to Mrs Riegler-Poyet, the test takes them less time to complete and they’re much more at ease with a laptop or a tablet. According to them, the test is more comfortable to take.
