SharePoint & Kofax- Performance Testing using VS 2010 Ultimate The Client had SharePoint (Web) and Kofax (Desktop) applications to be performance tested. Independent Methodology had to be derived to complement performance testing of different applications in a short span of time . Initial estimations posed a challenge due to tool limitations, Aggressive schedules to go-live. Need The Applications being developed for a wide user base needed thorough performance testing which had to go live successive to this assignment. Business Challenges Tool Used Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Edition Protocol – Web Protocol Technology Hexaware provided end-to-end performance testing solutions starting with tool evaluation, recommendation and load testing. Developed a total of 9 test scripts in VS 2010 Ultimate for generating the load simulating 200/3 Vusers over SharePoint(Web) / Kofax(Desktop) based business scenarios. Performance Monitoring was done and identified bottlenecks – 500 Internal server errors due to huge load & Tuning physical disk for Desktop application server – And fixed them. Performance tested the Workflow scenario and we suggested the client to go for a scalable test as their user strength was ramping up. For desktop application, which cannot be loaded with concurrent users using this tool, solution was provided to satisfy the minimum concurrent users and collected proper metrics too. Reused part of performance test script which is common for all scripts. Testing Solution Quality: Enhanced Delivery Confidence – Application’s ability to support the expected user & transaction load. Zero Performance Issues Cost: Optimized tool selection to fit the project objectives which resulted in cost reduction Time: Though it was a tight timeline, the project was completed as planned and the applications went live as expected.
