At the Fresenius Medical Care Deutschland GmbH subsidiary in Morocco, impuls experts have imple-mented a warehouse administration system with automatic storage-bin search and multinational linkage. The special challenges for the team instal-ling the system based on Dynamics AX were to integrate the warehouse module into the corporation’s infrastructure as well as linking its own and local systems.
At the Fresenius Medical Care Deutschland GmbH subsidiary in Morocco, impuls experts have implemen-ted Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Warehouse Manage-ment. About half of all staff members at the site will work with the new system.

Criteria
FME opted for the Dynamics AX-based system be-cause it meets all of the organization’s requirements regarding multi-nationality, multi-client management and multi-site capabilities as well as all neighboring fields. In addition to the newly defined infrastructure, FME places great emphasis on these parameters to enable all companies within the group to work inde-pendently and communicate with headquarters in Germany via interfaces.
Solution
With the newly implemented warehouse management system, items are entered into a SAP-related system in Germany. Using interfaces, the data then is trans-mitted automatically to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Warehouse Management. After defining interfaces and setting the right parameters, the most complex part of the project was defining the required warehouse equipment precisely to facilitate automatic storage-bin search. Moreover, due to a change in dimensions, the multi-phase migration of item data from the former system to the new one had to be planned and execu-ted. At the same time, the processes of the Moroccan organization were optimized. Challenges based on communication across borders and cultures were mas-tered by all participants through outstanding coopera-tion prior to the go-live.
