Proudly bearing the name of the founder of the nation - the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - Zayed

University was founded in 1998 to inspire, encourage, educate, and lead a powerful generation of students.

Zayed University is a public urban non-prot institute of higher education founded in 1998 that is located in Abu

Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The non co-educational university caters to both national and international students

    with undergraduate and graduate programs.

The new campus is being built on 75 hectares at New Khalifa City near Abu Dhabi International Airport. When

complete, the new campus will have a built-up area of 200,000 m2 and provide educational facilities for 6000

students. Completion is expected in July 2011.

Atlantis products are being used as part of the stormwater system. Over 6.1km of inltration channels or soakaways

have been installed beside roads and pathways, providing over 4 million litres of storage. The channel system is

constructed of thousands of Atlantis Matrix / D-Raintank - Double Modules wrapped in geotextile, placed in the

channel two modules wide. Water from the impervious surfaces is stored in the modules and gradually allowed

to percolate into the surrounding soil. The inltration channels are sized to make sure that it doesnt overow in

severe storm events and to ensure that all the water is dissipated effectively into the surrounding area. A concrete

sump has been provided a regular intervals to ensure that sand and vegetation matter cannot enter the inltrationchannel.

The project is being developed by Mubadala Development Company, which is wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi

government and the main contractor for the stormwater is Al Habtoor Specon Hastie International, a joint

venture between Al Habtoor Engineering and Hastie Group Limited.
