Founded in 1988, RGS Title opened its doors with a
single office in Oakton, Virginia and grew to a full-service
real estate title company with branches throughout
Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. RGS title
is now known as “the most trusted name in real estate

over 300,000 residential transactions. The company

To separate itself from competitors, RGS Title goes
beyond “industry basics” by partnering with lenders to
avoid scheduling problems, ensure requirements are
met, and resolve any unexpected charges. Additionally,
the company works with real estate agents to ensure
contract compliance and provide conflict resolution,
while also working with their customers to answer all
questions and provide settlement paperwork as early
as possible. This allows RGS Title employees to serve the

Challenge
As part of the title insurance sector servicing the Real
Estate Industry, the day-to-day business operations of
RGS Title involves large quantities of postage of all types.
Previous to using Stamps.com, RGS Title was locked
into an extended contract to rent expensive, bulky and
inflexible Pitney Bowes meters for the postage needs of
each of their twenty offices. These meters came with a
hefty monthly rental fee, did not provide any reporting
capabilities to administrators and required large
quantities of expensive consumables such as custom
ink cartridges and custom printer rolls.
Solution
In 2006, RGS Title began a comprehensive search for an
alternative to their Pitney Bowes postage meters. They
reviewed the offerings from several solution providers

already own. RGS Title had been locked into long-term
leases on postage meters at each of their locations,

is required, no special labels or ink refills are needed and
multi-year contracts are a thing of the past.
Reporting
One of the most important features that RGS Title was
looking for in a postage management solution was
a powerful, networked reporting capability. Pitney
Bowes postage meters allowed no visibility into the
postage patterns or expenses in locations other than
the corporate headquarters. Because RGS Title has
20 locations, this posed a major problem as well as
a liability. With Stamps.com Enterprise, the system
administrator located at the corporate headquarters
has the ability to instantly review activity in all of their
locations, preparing detailed reports that can focus all
the way down to the user level. Stamps.com Enterprise
has enabled RGS Title to manage their postage activities
and expenses in a way that was not possible before. This
capability has increased employee accountability.
