It provides sports, health, training and educational programmes, encouraging enterprise and innovation. Sport, particularly football, is used as a vehicle to create life changing opportunities for a multitude of different people. Tottenham Hotspur Foundation believes that activities are based on a belief that engagement through sport can foster a sense of mutual respect and trust, widen horizons, raise aspirations and provide opportunities. They recently celebrated their 6 year anniversary, in which they have created over 1.5 million life changing opportunities. Challenge/Requirements The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation decided that they wanted to be more self-sufficient, establishing themselves as an autonomous institution. In doing so, they decided to create courses, which would be validated through Middlesex University. For this to happen they needed to implement a learning management system (LMS) that could facilitate their planned online courses and provide a scalable system able to host an ever increasing number of users. The learning platform would predominantly be used to upload course materials and for the setting and handing in of assignments, with the aim of improving internal communication and discussion. Webanywhere Solution Webanywhere’s Workplace division created a managed, bespoke Moodle which reflects the brand of Tottenham Hotspur and their foundation, whilst also incorporating the presence Middlesex University. As Moodle is an open source platform, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation do not have to factor in individual user licensing fees or yearly costs. As Moodle is a scalable platform, it provides Tottenham Hotspur Foundation the ability to expand the platform without worrying about escalating hardware costs and increase users. Webanywhere also provided Tottenham Hotspur Foundation with Moodle training, so that staff members could procure an infinitive understanding of the learning platform. This training would unlock their potential, so that they could create a superlative learning environment for their users. Finally Moodle was used with the prospective of content expansion in mind, depending upon the needs of the the Foundation. Key Benefits Anytime, anywhere access to learning materials and support allows more flexible and convenient working practices, both for staff and students Training allowed for staff to fully understand Moodle before using it, creating a more positive attitude towards using it and hence a more effective implementation No licence fees and reduced hardware costs makes the solution cost-effective, even as it grows Unlimited expert support ensures Tottenham Hotspur Foundation are able to get the most out the system webanywhere.co.uk Registered Company: 4881346 Founded in 2003, Webanywhere Workplace Learning provides innovative learning technology solutions to the Corporate, Not-for-Profit and Public sectors.
