INSTRUCTOR BIOS:

Sterling J. Frith - Sterling Frith is a Special Agent in the Investigations Division of the Alabama Attorney General’s Office responsible for Computer Forensics and Cybercrimes. Before coming to the AG’s office, Agent Frith served with the Prattville Police Department and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. He began working in the cyber realm 5 years ago. Agent Frith is a Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator, Access Data Certified Examiner, Seized Computer Evidence Recovery Specialist and an Open Source Practitioner. He has over 500 hours of training in cybercrimes and computer forensics to go along with his experience. He is currently finishing up his Master Degree in Information Security and Assurance.

William Lisenby – William Lisenby is an Assistant Attorney General with the Alabama Attorney General’s Office where he is currently assigned to the Criminal Trials Division. Mr. Lisenby has 30 years of experience as a Prosecutor beginning his career with the United States Department of Justice where he served from 1986 to 1988. In 1988 Mr. Lisenby begin his career in the State of Alabama with the District Attorney’s Office, in the Fifth Judicial Circuit, where he worked from 1988 to 2005. During his tenure at the DA Office, Lisenby served as the District Attorney in 2004 and 2005. In 2005, Mr. Lisenby came to the Alabama Attorney General’s Office where he has served in various capacities during his tenure. Mr. Lisenby has made numerous presentations on Search and Seizure Law to local law enforcement agencies and Seminars across the State of Alabama.

Shawn S. Smith – Shawn Smith is a 38-year veteran of law enforcement. In 2009 he began his tenure at the Alabama Attorney General’s Office working in the Cold Case Unit of the Investigations Division as a Special Agent and in 2015 became its Director. SA Smith is retired from the Montgomery Police Department where he served as Commander of the Homicide Unit. During his time at the MPD Smith was involved in approximately 350 murder investigations. At the MPD SA Smith also taught basic and advanced classes in death and homicide investigation as an adjunct instructor for the MPD Academy and the Alabama State Trooper Academy.

Richard G. Windham – Richard Windham is a Special Agent in the Investigations Division of the Alabama Attorney General’s Office. SA Windham has more than 20 years of training and experience as an investigator, tactical officer and law enforcement professional, supplemented by extensive experience in the security sector of the United States Air Force. SA Windham has served as a supervisor in both patrol and criminal investigative divisions at the municipal and county level of law enforcement. He has degrees from the Community College of the Air Force (AAS – Criminal Justice), Troy University (BS – Criminal Justice), is a recent graduate of the FBI National Academy and is in the process of completing his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. In addition to his investigative duties, SA Windham also serves as the primary firearms instructor for the Attorney General’s Office.
