Casting Activity/Game PG 13 Team Casting Challenge Game The purpose of the game is allow students to work on their casting skill while having fun! Equipment Needed: 1. 5 Spincast Rod & Reels 2. 5 Foam Basketball Plugs (or regular casting plug) 3. 5 Five gallon buckets Rules: • Students cast to the buckets from behind the casting line. Set at distance where students can successfully cast into the bucket. • Teams have 5 members. Each time a student casts the basketball practice plug into the bucket they score a point. • There are 4 quarters to the game. Each student gets 10 casts per quarter Game Options: 1. All five team members cast as a team. I.E Fab Five all cast together then it is the next teams turn. 2. One team member from five different teams cast at a time then rotate to next team member. Setup: See below.. Distance between casting line and goals should be close enough to allow for success, but not to close. The purpose is for accuracy and scoring points instead of casting long distance. Remember to space goals apart from each other to avoid students from crossing lines.
