Vetting Category 14 Document Checklist for Candidates Please make sure that you bring all of the required information (originals AND photocopies where stated). Document Checklist for CandidatesPlease make sure that you bring all of the required information (originals AND photocopies where stated). Please note, your proof of ID and your proof of Right to Work may not necessarily be covered by the same documentation. Two routes of ID checking

Route 1 (For all applicants except non-EEA national applicants)

You must be able to show the following: 1 document from Group 1, below; and 1 further document from either Group 1, or Group 2a or 2b, below

The combination of documents presented must confirm your name, address and date of birth. If this can’t be achieved within 2 documents a third can be selected.You should have your identity validated using Route 1. If you can’t provide Route 1 documents, Route 2 may be used.

Route 1a (For non-EEA national applicants)

You must be able to show the following: 1 document from Group 1a, below; and 1 further document from either Group 1, Group 2a or 2b, below

Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006, to a family member of a national of a European Economic Area country or Switzerland stating that the holder is permitted to take employment which is less than 6 months old together with a Positive Verification Notice from the Home Office Employer Checking Service.An Application Registration Card issued by the Home Office stating that the holder is permitted to take the employment in question, together with a Positive Verification Notice from the Home Office Employer Checking Service.

A current Residence Card (including an Accession Residence Card or a Derivative Residence Card) issued by the Home Office to a non-European Economic Area national who is a family member of a national of a European Economic Area country or Switzerland or who has a derivative right of residence.

For EEA Nationals, please see above an example of a Biometric Residence Permit displaying photograph. Please copy both front and back of the card and make sure that the copies are clear and complete.

2. PROOF OF RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK

To prove that you have the RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK – please bring the original and a photocopy of ONE document from below. For passports, please copy all the pages that refer to your right to work and personal details. If you are providing a passport, please photocopy the page with the expiry date in full. In UK passports, this is the inside page at the back. Please make sure that the full reference number is visible on the copy.

VisaPhotocopy the relevant visas which detail either a set time or indefinite leave to remain in the UK, making sure that the full reference number is visible on the copy. If the visa is expired we must see a relevant Certificate of Application from the Home Office (not your solicitor) stating clearly that you are still eligible to work in this country. The visa must be in your current passport.

ARC If you have an ARC card you need to photocopy both sides, making sure that the copies are clear and complete.

Biometric Residence PermitIf you have a Biometric Residence Permit, please photocopy both sides making sure that the copies are clear and complete..

Birth Certificate – UK citizens only UK citizens may provide a birth certificate instead of your passport. You must also provide a photocopy.

Blue Residence PermitYou may provide a blue UK Residence Permit issued by the Home Office certifying the holder has permanent residence. Please photocopy both sides.

3. PROOF OF NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBER

To prove your NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBER - please bring in the original and a photocopy of ONE document from the list below. The document must show your full first name and surname and must not be handwritten. Following this link https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-insurance-get-your-national-insurance-number-in-writing-ca5403 will enable you to access a printed copy of your National Insurance number which is fully compatible with our requirements.

If you do not have a National Insurance number then you will need to provide proof that you have applied for one. For further information please contact your local Jobcentre Plus or call The National Insurance number application line on 0800 141 2075 Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm

Example - Proof of National Insurance Number

A letter from HM Revenue & Customs obtained from Gov.uk is acceptable as proof of NI number.

A national insurance number card is acceptable as proof of NI number. Please photocopy the card making sure that the name and whole number are clearly visible on the copy.

4. PROOF OF ADDRESS

To prove your CURRENT ADDRESS - please bring in the original and a photocopy of ONE document from below. The document must:

Not be handwritten Clearly display your current name and address Be dated Contain ID i.e. official letterhead from a recognised organisation/business/government body

Other documents may be used providing they have been issued within the last 12 months or have a stated expiry date that has not been reached. We cannot accept private tenancy agreements between a private landlord and tenant, this includes short hold tenancy agreements).

Changing the address on a driving licence online.You can change your address online on the DVLA website. The page can be accessed at the following address:https://www.gov.uk/change-address-driving-licenceYou will need to:

have your driving licence be a resident of Great Britain - there’s a different process in Northern Ireland provide addresses of where you’ve lived for the last 3 years have a valid UK passport or other form of identity have your National Insurance number if known not be disqualified from driving

Your updated licence should arrive within one week if you apply online.

For Non EEA Students ONLYPlease bring ORIGINAL documents and photocopies, confirming that you have been accepted for course study.Documents provided from this section MUST:

Be ORIGINAL documentation Be issued by the educational institution where you are studying Show the start date and length of the course Clearly indicate the place of study Confirm course term dates and vacation dates (for a minimum of one year of study)

Vetting Category 14

Students who apply for visas on/after 6 April 2010 who are studying at below university degree level are only able to work for up to 10 hours per week during term time. Students who have applied for visas before the 6th April 2010 are able to work up to 20 hours per week during term time. If the requirements for the role are that you are required to work more than your visa allows then you will not be allowed to progress further in the recruitment process and you will be turned away from the interview on the day.
