EXPERIENCE.

The best stuff is often the hardest to make. Using high-zinc alloys requires careful attention to welding technique. Every aspect of carbon manufacturing demands forethought, from individual strands to resin qualities to forming pressure and bladder materials. Since we manufacture in our own factories, we have total control over every step.

EXPERTISE.

Our manufacturing history extends from BMX to DH to CX to Road, Track and TT, even including race quality kid’s bikes. Although primarily centered on bicycles and their ilk, we have even made our fair share of items beyond the scope of cycling. If you can dream it, we can make it.

Pro-Lite’s in-house manufacturing facilities include state of the art carbon manufacturing, reducing our reliance on external manufacturing sources. We handle every step, including drawing, layup, mold creation, forming in our own high-pressure forming machine and curing. Using thick-wall bladders during the forming process, we are able to attain strong, rigid carbon fibre products with a minimum of excess material and smooth internal surfaces.

Our brutal testing machine puts wheels through a punishing set of endurance tests simulating excessive lateral force, terrain that makes cobbled roads look like a manicured track and general inappropriate use of a bicycle wheel for thousands of kilometers of sustained abuse.

Confidence comes from knowing that you have done everything right at every step. Testing simply confirms that the wheels we build are truly the gold standard.

MANUFACTURINGWhat do you get when you choose Pro-Lite?

Decades of experience – both from the perspective of a professional racer and as a professional builder.

Quality materials – PBS tubing has some of the highest strength-to-weight ratios, similar to that of scandium, but without the exorbitant cost. It includes custom formed 7046 alloy tubing shaped to your needs and welded by skilled workers who know how to handle high-zinc 7000 series alloys. Of course, we can also work with any other material you could want.

Wheelbuilding – 100% handbuilt wheels are indisputably the best product available. Having built wheels for hundreds of customers, serving every market imaginable, we can confidently say that our product is top shelf regardless of what type of wheel you need. It’s not just about having skilled, attentive workers on the line, also the basis of the production line benefiting from old-school methods like soaking nipples in oil, multiple passes of spoke de-tensioning, and high accuracy tools calibrated twice daily. Done the hard way - done right.

ROME 5-Spoke Aero WheelThe key to the effectiveness of the Rome lies in the Leading Edge Deflection Technology (LEDT). With LEDT, the entire shape of each span is considered, not just the basic aerofoil shape, but also the curvature of the planform at the top of the wheel, where airspeed is highest.

SEAT CLAMP

The Garda seat clamp has been around for a few years now and even though it is a fairly simple item, it demonstrates the Pro-Lite style to make things the best way no matter how small.

The rotating pivot nut ensures the bolt pulls evenly as it constricts and the offset cut encourages the seat tube to keep its roundness rather than simply pinching in at the sides. This can help prevent ovalization and stress loading on carbon seat posts on the sides at the vulnerable point of contact, which can lead to micro-tears and eventual failure.

The Giano is another example of Pro-Lite innovation even on the little things.

The QR lever pivots on a round nut to prevent uneven bolt tension and prevent premature failure. The lever cam rides on a high density PU washer for smooth tightening and the whole thing is sand-blasted to maximize strength and resistance to breakage at the ring.
