THE COMPANY

Krug Expedition was founded in 2013 by a group of enthusiasts from Germany and Austria. From the very beginning, our goal was to offer our clients expedition grade travel vehicles with a precisely balanced quality-to-price ratio.

Self-sustained, confident, and safe world-wide travel is the foundation and guiding principle of Krug Expedition.

Combining the experience and superior craftsmanship of specialists from both Western and Eastern Europe is the key to the efficiency of Krug Expedition.

The members of our team have long years of experience in building and operating off-road expedition vehicles. Throughout our extensive travels, we have gained first-hand experience of the harshest road conditions in all cli-mates. This experience informs every decision we make about every aspect of our vehicles, down to the very last detail and part.

We are an experienced international team;

We offer both stock and highly customizable solutions;

We can claim, not without pride, that our company is able to carry out virtually the entire manufacturing process, from project planning and development to mounting a living module onto a chassis, and offering after-sales service;

Our professional design department is meticulous about every nuance of every project, leaving nothing to chance;

Since every manufacturing stage for the living module and the externally mounted equipment is designed and produced within the company, we can monitor the workmanship and quality of all parts at each step. This ensures the reliability of each product, as well as its compliance with the highest demands of the traveler.

PRODUCT RANGE

At Krug Expedition, we strive to make our high-quality expedition trucks more and more affordable. The only way to ensure this is to keep a close eye on the state-of-the-art innovations in the field.

Having extensively discussed the wishes and experience of our cus-tomers, and scrutinized the roll-out of our stock-model trucks, we have been able to significantly raise the bar for ourselves and offer a brand new range of Krug living modules.

Based on our extensive experience, and taking into account the fea-tures of various chassis, we have designed a series of expedition mod-ules with a variety of floor plans that we feel offer the most organic price-to-option ratio.

Standard lengths are ranging from 4,6 to 6 meters, which allows to match our modules with most off-road trucks available.

INTERIORS

We masterfully combine esthetics and functionality, and see no contradiction between the two. Instead, we focus on function, never losing sight of form and attention to details. Our in-house specialists create cozy, home-like living areas that offer the long-term traveler the feeling of repose and fulfill his dreams of the best possible trip. To do this, we utilize only the best materials and treat them with an almost forgotten degree of superior craftsmanship.

MODULE BODY AND SUBFRAME

WINDOW

High-quality windows are a key component setting apart an expedition-grade vehicle from the rest. Our windows are made using real tempered glass. They have been tested to withstand the harshest road and weather conditions and can be safely exposed to low pressure on high altitudes.

SECURITY

All doors and hatches are equipped with reliable 3-point locks.

EXTERNAL LAMINATE

Specially designed laminate for the outer layers of our sandwich panels is made from multiple plies of high-density cross-woven fiberglass impregnated with an epoxy resin. It has much greater strength and impact resistance than standard laminates used by other manufacturers.

VENTILATION

Powerful roof fans operate in both air inlet and outlet modes providing optimal air circulation inside the module.

DRIVER CAB CRAWL-THROUGH

Living module can be permanently connected to the driver cab with a flexible bellow. It is easily disconnected from the cab by means of quick-release latches allowing for easy driver cab tilting to access the engine for service.

SUBFRAME

Module subframe is attached to the chassis with flexible connections. This solution allows for the torsion of the chassis frame increasing off-road performance, yet keeping the module stable.

SPECIFICATIONS

Our modules come in Basic or Advanced equipment package.

Set up with air heating system, Basic is a good match for moderate and hot climates.

Advanced features liquid heating system, extended battery capacity, and much more.

Developed for full-time travelers it guarantees comfort and safety in harsh or extreme conditions.

Advanced water(coolant) heating system UPGRADE

At the heart of the system is an autonomous diesel heater.While driving, excess heat from the engine can be transferred into the living module’s heating circuit by means of a heat exchanger. In addition, the boiler can operate from a standard 230 VAC electrical grid. This, for example, can come in the form of excess solar energy or from a shore power connection.All this makes the system very flexible and efficient. It can easily switch between different sources of energy and use it for heating. This system is far more efficient and suitable for extreme colds, than regular air heating systems.

ACCESSORIES

We always take into account any of your wishes for a multitude of options for your off-road motorized home, from accessories to external equipment.

A bicycle rack, motorcycle lift, outdoor kitchen, spare wheel carriers, extra fuel tanks, and external lighting—the list is as long as the number of available options for the equipment for the trucks itself.

For popular truck chassis, such as MAN, Steyr, Mercedes or Iveco, we offer our trusted and time-proven standard cab roof racks.

For all other chassis, we can design and manufacture custom roof racks.

Even spare wheel mounts and loaders, as well as any cargo boxes for the racks, can be custom built.

We offer a broad range of stairs: from a simple folding ladder to much more sophisticated solutions. Our most technologically advanced solution is a boxed retractable ladder mounted right under the entrance door.

Since they never touch the ground, our access stairs don’t wobble. A sophisticated supporting design, despite its compactness, ensures the superior stability of our stairs. Our five-step, closely spaced stairs are arguably the best and most comfortable solution for off-road trucks on the market.

Upon request, we can add a rugged, industrial-grade linear actuator that is operated automatically via a push button, or even remotely.

We can design a set of aluminum cargo boxes mounted under the module to match every possible vehicle.

Each compartment can be further customized to suit your individual needs, and the interior layout optimized for maximum use of the available space. We can also equip each compartment with heavy-duty steel drawers of or even slide-out table.

We can equip every cargo compartment with drawers or platforms on full extension sliders in various sizes.

We offer external mounting solutions for spare tires, motorbikes, and e-bikes ranging from lightweight modular racks with manual winches to electric motorized lifts and hydraulically actuated platforms for a motorbike and a spare wheel.

All Krug Expedition vehicles come standard with robust mounting plates welded to the ends of the subframe. These mounts can be used for transporting heavier items. The idea behind this solution is to offload all the weight and acceleration forces to a rigid subframe instead of the module’s body.

As part of our customization process, we can outfit a garage for transporting a quad inside the living module, or install a slide-out lift platform that can carry up to two motorbikes inside the garage.

Off-road vehicles are primarily used for taking trips through nature. Krug will help you achieve the maximum level of comfort and independence. You don’t have to be limited to cooking inside only. We can outfit your truck with a complete, quickly transformable outdoor kitchen that fits inside one of the external cargo boxes.

The variety of cooking appliances are as flexible as our internal solutions: a gas grill, electric induction cooker, or contact grill—you name it. We can even throw in a small sink—all water connections are available and ready for this outfit.

We can also make additional kitchen organizers, such as a built-in stainless steel drawer.
