A very unusual early nineteench centuryhanging lantern, the mounts with their original palmettes and stylised foliage retaining the original gilding and opaque blue glass bowl terminating in a cut pen-dent finial.

A LARGE PIER MIRROR

A late 19th century gilt wood and plaster pier mirror, of very good scale. The deeply curved rectangular frame decorat-ed with pressed plaster foliage and flowers, roses, chrysanthemums and poppy heads with beeding, retaining the original split mirror plates. The mercury plates in parts crystallised.

A DUTCH RIBBED BUCKET

A highly decorative and unusual coopered and ribbed Dutch bucket of exceptional colour and mounted with brass bandings and a brass handle.

A richly patinated mahogany wall lantern boldly carved with a scrolling broken pediment and carved shell above a glazed door and sides with blind greek key bor-ders and a fluted pendent below. Ireland, circa 1860

A FRENCH EMPIRE BONHEUR DU JOUR

An Empire mahogany bonheur du jour. The upper section has two long drawers above two shorter drawers each having a machined gilt bronze handle. The top is decorated with a cresting in the form of a pair of scrolls flanking a ring. This dou-bles as a disguised handle for the dressing mirror and pleated silk screen that is hid-den within the frame.

At the centre of the drawer section is a gilt bronze button which when pressed releases a tambour writing slide which retains its original finely gilt tooled green Morocco leather. The piece stands on two double baluster turned legs, the capi-tal, centre and foot mounted with finely chased bronze. The back is supported on square pilasters. The whole is supported on a plinth modelled with a recessed demi-lune at the front. Throughout the piece is veneered in finely figured flame mahogany.
