Surface finishes at risk include those in both public and private

buildings such as commercial, industrial, healthcare, education

Fires are often started by vandalism in properties with common

areas such stairways, foyers and communal entrances.

Factors such as overall thickness and number of paint layers lead

inevitably to the progressive deterioration of adhesion and increased

fire risk. Grime, damp and ageing can also combine to increase the

susceptibility to ignition and flame spread.

Water based easy-guard is compliant with all fire standard

regulations and was tested on the WarringtonFire Blue Board test

achieving a Class ’0’ rating in just 3 coats.

Where a Class ‘0’ finish is not essential there is an alterna-

tive product to use.

The easy-guard fire upgrade paint is a 2 coat water based

system. The first coat (primer) acts as a foundation layer for

the system, promoting adhesion and imparting fire protec-

tion

to the old paint layers below.

The second coat (colour) increases the amount of fire

protection given to the old layers beneath and also provides

the desired colour finish.

The major form of concrete degradation is due to chloride in-

duced reinforcement corrosion. The ingress of chloride ions
