PISTON FLOW SYSTEM is a new technology that was developedto extend the pipe length in the fire extinguishing system.

PISTON FLOW SYSTEM consists of storage cylinder containingextinguishant agent and support cylinder containingpressurized gas (Nitrogen) to push the extinguishant out.

The standard HFC-227ea (FM-200) extinguishing systemwas known to have difficulty in discharging the requiredextinguishant to a fire located in long-distance. This is due tothe lack of Nitrogen pressure because the extinguishant and

Nitrogen as pressurized is stored in a single cylinder.

However, PISTON FLOW SYSTEM can discharge extinguishantpromptly to long-distance by providing additional pressurizedNitrogen from Support Cylinder and preventing rapid declineof pressure before the pressure in Storage Cylinder drops. Byadopting this new technology free layout for storage cylinderroom and fire protection areas regardless of a distance hasbeen possible.

PISTON FLOW SYSTEM can save labor and material costsbecause storage pressure of extinguishant is lower than that of

Inert Gas System. This system is also environment-friendly andsafe for humans because there is no residue after discharge.

FM-200 PFS is an engineered clean agent fire

extinguishing system intended for total floodingapplication covering multiple & long-distanceprotected areas. It is safe for total flooding ofoccupied areas. The FM-200agent is stored incylinder as liquid superpressurized with Nitrogento 24.8 bar at 70(21C). During discharge, highpressure (up to 80 bar) Nitrogen gas stored in aseparate cylinder is introduced into the vaporspace of FM-200agent cylinder pushing theextinguishing agent like a gas pistonrenderingthe product name FM200Piston Flow System(FM-200 PFS). FM-200 PFS is designed inaccordance with NFPA 2001.
