Goals for Achieve Reading Competition

School-wide goal = 40 articles per student by December.

Grade-level goals = Grade levels meet goal of 10 articles every 3 weeks will be recognized.

Individual Students = The top 5 students who have shown the most Lexile growth will be recognized at the end of the year

CatalystGuidelines

Students will read Achieve articles during Catalyst with Mrs. Vera

Students will have small group support during catalyst for students who are needing extra help.

Students will complete a tracker per article.

Students will need to complete a total of 10 articles every 3 weeks.

CatalystExpectations

At least three times a week students will engage in Achieve 3000 during Catalyst Period.

Students must read FOR TEN MINUTES before answering activity questions.

Achieve Reading Competition PRIZES

Catalyst Class with the highest percentage and accumulated articles at the end of Quarter 1 = Ice Cream Party

In addition, the top 5 students who have shown the most growth from the 2nd Level Set Test to 3rd Level Set Test by December will get pizza for lunch.

Reading Competition Dates to Remember

August 11th– Students will be informed

Aug. 13th – Students begin Achieve during Catalyst

Aug. 17th – Lexile Level Set Testing window opens

Sept. 14th –1st data analysis

Oct. 14th - 2nd data analysis

Dec. 5th - Lexile Level Set Testing window opens

Dec. 12-14 data analysis and announcements
