- Technical training seminarWe offer technical seminars for training our customers in theuse of the catalyst and hydrogenation techniques. Theseseminars have been successful with all levels of users of thecatalyst – operators, engineers and plant management.

- Trouble shootingCan’t get that melting curve in specification? Need to loweryour trans level in a basestock? These are the kind of problemswe find solutions to, working closely with our customers. Theknowledge of our experienced sales team is backed up by ourown analytical and research laboratories, and custom designedsoftware.

PRICAT 9910 – normal hydrogenation. Our standard catalyst for edible oil hydrogenation used to produce awide variety of fats. It exhibits high activity even in poor qualityfeedstocks, and medium selectivity. Very suitable for full hydrogenationdue to its high catalyst-poison resistance and high activity.

PRICAT 9920 – selective hydrogenation. The catalyst of choice for polyene-selective, partial hydrogenation.Ideal for low trans selective reactions and removal of linolenic withminimal formation of stearin (such as in the production of stablefrying oils).

PRICAT 9908 – steep melting curve fats. This is a sulphur-promoted catalyst that maximises the isomerizationof double bonds. Gives steep melting curve fats in non-lauric oilssuitable for use as cocoa butter replacers.

PRICAT 9936 – high acidity hydrogenation. For use in poor quality and/or industrial triglycerides. This is a catalystwhich can cope with very high levels of free fatty acids, and can beused for partial or full hydrogenation of this type of feedstock.

Tailor-made catalysts

Johnson Matthey Catalysts can also offer tailor-made catalysts to suitindividual customer requirements. Adjustments made to the catalystcan range from addition of filter-aid to a change in the activity orselectivity to suit a particular reaction.
