Catenorin is phytochemical bioactivesubstance that has high inhibitory activity

against sugar-digesting enzymes.

Our recent research found out that blending

green tea and mulberry leaves bioactive

substances in an appropriate ratio creates

double-blocking effect against amylase,maltase and- glucosidase (sucrase).

Starch and sucrose (sugar) considered asthe major carbohydrates in our diet. Starch is

digested to maltose by amylase. Maltose and

sucrose are digested to glucose and fructose by

maltase and sucrase and eventually absorbed

through intestinal tracts to the blood stream.

Catenorin reduces the activity of theseenzymes and subsequently reduces the glucose

and fructose levels in the blood stream.
