Haydn CreationSunday, October 18 | 4:00 p.m.
The powerful The Creation paints a vivid musical picture of sun and stars, mountains and rivers, birds and beasts as they emerge into being. Told through the words of Genesis, Psalms, and Milton’s Paradise Lost, this dazzling story of the beginning of the world secured Haydn’s place as one of the greatest composers of all time.

Vivaldi GloriaSunday, February 21 | 4:00 p.m.
Famously nicknamed “The Red Priest” for his brightly colored hair, Vivaldi spent most of his life teaching, conducting, and composing brilliant works at the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, an orphanage and music school for girls. Jubilant and spontaneous, the triumphant Gloria is one of his greatest accomplishments.

J. Reilly Lewis, conductorJennifer Ellis Kampani, sopranoRobin Beckman, sopranoRoger Isaacs, countertenorKarl Hempel, bass
Energetic and fi ery, the Leonore Overture is heroic Beethoven at his best. Lyrically grand, the virtuosic Choral Fantasy with piano solo foreshadows Beethoven’s famous Ninth Symphony “Ode to Joy” theme. Surprisingly gentle and humble, the Mass in C Major approaches its subject with deep sincerity and power. Join us!Section Before
