The Angelus Prayer
V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. R. And she conceived by the Holy Spirit Hail Mary... V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord R. Be it done to me according to thy word. Hail Mary... V. And the Word was made flesh. R. And dwelt among us. Hail Mary... V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
REFLECTION ON LITURGY OF THE DAY
Living in an age well before the internet or social media, the Magi from the East relied upon a single star as a sign that a king had been born. The heavens revealed to these learned foreigners that a matter of great importance had occurred in Judea. Today, we celebrate the revelation of the birth of our Lord to the outside world, to us. The light over the little town of Bethlehem has revealed the light of the world to the ends of the earth. (Source: Pastoral Patterns, Winter 2020 - 2021. World Library Publications.)

LITURGY OF THE WORD January 3, 2021 - The Epiphany of the Lord
Isaiah 60:1-6 The glory of the Lord shines upon you. Psalm 72 “Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.” Ephesians 3:2-3a, 5-6 The Gentiles are coheirs of the
promise. Matthew 2:1-12 We saw His star at its rising and have come to do Him homage. Every Epiphany we hear the endless extent of God’s goodness. Isaiah tells of the light shining forth from Jerusalem attracting peoples from near and far, from land and sea. The psalmist sings of eternal justice and peace leading all nations to adore the Lord. Paul teaches the Ephesians that they, and all Gentiles, are members of the same body of Christ. Matthew writes of the magi from afar being drawn to the newborn king by the light from above. Let us look for that revelatory light that draws us more fully to the Lord. (Source: Pastoral Patterns, Winter 2020 - 2021. World Library Publications.)
