Solemnity of the Transfiguration

Almighty God,

we praise You that You revealed Jesus to be Your

beloved, incarnate Son in His transfiguration before

He made His way to the cross for our salvation. We

pray that You would preserve us in the faith so that

we might always listen to Him alone for forgiveness

and salvation and remain continually thankful that

every good gift comes from You, for the sake of Your

Son, crucified and risen from the dead. Lord, in Your

mercy, hear our prayer.

There are still seats

available!

The Assumption of Mary

The Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary is

celebrated every year on August 15th. This feast

commemorates the death of the Blessed Virgin

Mary and her assumption, body and soul, into

Heaven. It is the most important Marian feast,

and it is also a Holy Day of Obligation. Please

note the following link to a Novena for the As-

sumption starting tomorrow the 7th of August.

https://www.ewtn.com/Devotionals/novena/

assumption_mary.htm.

Mass times for 15 August are 9 am, 12:05 pm

and 6 pm.

Father in heaven, all creation rightly gives you

praise, for all life and all holiness come from you. In

the plan of your wisdom she who bore the Christ in

her womb was raised body and soul in glory to be

with him in heaven. May we follow her example in

reflecting your holiness and join in her hymn of end-

less love and praise. We ask this through Christ our

Lord. Amen.

Blessing of the Herbs

It is a traditional custom for

people to bring fresh herbs to

church to be blessed on the

Solemnity of the Assumption .

If you have an herb garden, be

sure to cut some and bring them for a special

blessing! The blessing of the herbs will take

place at the Masses on Tuesday, 15 August.

Please come early and place your herbs on the

table around the Lady Altar.
