TOWN MEETINGS WITH BISHOP COYNE

As part of a continuing effort to promote full transparency

about Catholic matters in the State of Vermont, Bishop

Christopher Coyne has called for Catholic town meetings

to be held around the State during the month of January.

Please read the recent Inland See from December 29th-

30th for more details about these Town Meetings. Please

feel free to attend any of the meetings, not just by location.

The locations chosen are based on ease of access, and are

not intended to be a geographic districting.

All of the Town Meetings will be held from 6-7:30PM.

Here is the schedule:

Jan 22: Holy Family Church, 4 Prospect St. Essex Jct.

Jan 23: St. Theresa Church, 44 East Street, Orleans

Jan 28: Sacred Heart Church, 238 Main St., Bennington

Jan 29: Christ the King, 66 South Main St., Rutland

Jan 31: St. John Vianney Church, 160 Hinesburg Road

South Burlington

Please note that the January 29th meeting at Christ the

King Church in Rutland was not included in the article in

the Inland See.

The operative frame for the discussions should be Chris-

tian charity and respectful listening focused on promoting

the work of salvation in and through the Church. Please

come and let your voice be heard. God Bless you!

LITURGY OF THE WORD

Isaiah 40:1-5, 9-11 God’s glory shall be revealed.

Psalm 104 “O bless the Lord, my soul.”

Titus 2:11-14; 3:4-7 We are saved through the bath of

Rebirth

Luke 3:15-16, 21-22 “You are my beloved Son.”

We conclude the Christmas season today with the feast of

the Lord’s baptism. Saint Luke has already told us how the

angels, the shepherds, and the Magi have attested to the

holiness of this Child.

Today we hear God call out from the heavens, “You are my

beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” Let us each re-

flect today on our own baptism, when we were recognized

as a child of God. May God be well pleased. (Source:

Pastoral Patterns, Winter 2018-19- World Library Publica-

tions.)
