Humans by nature desire that which gives joy and happiness and avoidthat which brings pain and sorrow.

However, there is a gross misunderstanding of the differences betweenJOY/HAPPINESS AND PLEASURE.

What is the difference between joy and pleasure?

We can best discover their differences with respect to time.Pleasures exist in time, fleeting moments in which one of our

appetites or desires temporarily finds satisfaction.

WhileJoy comes from beyond time. It is Eternal.

Some adolescents go for things that give them pleasure/immediate gratification.( I want to be happy and I want itNOW).

The pleasure, the satisfaction, or gratification does not last.

It even turns into its opposite of dissatisfaction or pain aswe grasp for more of the pleasure or suffer theconsequences of overindulging in it.

Those consequences usually prove costly to both body andsoul. Overindulgence in pleasures can harm health of ourbody. It also weakens our soul by wasting inner energiesand channeling our interests and intentions downunprofitable paths.

what goes around, comes aroundThe more pleasure one gets, the more hunger is implanted formore.(unsatisfied).Overindulging in pleasure can cause harm to our health andbody system and weaken our spiritual life. Can stand as great obstacle to the actualization of our God giventalents. The one minute pleasure, can cause eternal sorrow.
