In most places, we hardly attain the goal of gathering all who are in Christ by baptism. Look around today and see what a Big Sunday looks like! Our tradition speaks of remembering, anamnesis, as the antidote to “amnesia,” the tragic forgetting of who God is and who we are as God’s most beloved creation. On this Easter day, we are at our very best. We remember who God is, and we remember who we are in God’s eyes: beloved sons and daughters, reborn to eternal life in baptismal waters. We rekindle our candles and reclaim our baptismal promises. As a “Big Sunday,” today also reflects the character of festivity and leisure that should mark every Lord’s Day. We wear “Sunday best” today, and we may take some time, especially in the northern states, to stroll through a budding garden. It is truly a “Big Sunday,” and how different our lives would be if we took its values and traditions forward into all the Sundays of our lives. —Rev. James Field, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co. TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Fifty years or so ago, it was popular to teach that every Sunday is a “Little Easter.” Today, after several decades of intense liturgical reform, it is more proper to think of today as a “Big Sunday.” On every Sunday of the year, the Church is obliged to assemble, keeping the day holy.

¡Bendito eres! —De Oraciones Biblicas, p. 163 por Lucien Deiss, CSSp, copyright © 1976, 1981, Lucien Deiss. MESSAGE FROM THE BUSINESS MANAGER Thank you to all who have participated in our Lenten services and dinners. Starting last year, the CFT (Church Fundraising Team) decided they would emphasize the importance of our parishioners attending the Stations of the Cross at St. Patrick’s. The CFT also thought it would be a great idea to offer those attending the Stations of the Cross a dinner immediately following. The dinners would be a fund raising opportunity for much needed parish maintenance projects. Due to the effort of many hardworking individuals, we were blessed with four dinners and two socials. The critics have been very impressed with each event, noting the food was wonderful and the fellowship inspiring! Thank you to all the event organizers, cooks, servers, ticket sellers, clean up crews and those who supported the dinner. A special thanks to Chef Colette Polaski for her amazing culinary talent… choosing the menus, taste testing and preparing the dinners each week. As is the norm, it has been a hectic week preparing the church for our Holy Week services. Hopefully many of our faithful will participate in the very special traditional services. Father Hernando, Father Walter, and the parish staff and volunteers wish you all a blessed, happy Easter! Sandee Macedo

REDISCOVER JESUS It must have been some Sunday morning! The most radical moment in the history of the world was that Sunday morning when Jesus rose from the dead. Ignore it if you wish or pretend it didn’t happen, but it is simply impossible to make sense of life and history without acknowledging the Resurrection. Rising from the dead! Wow. The ultimate proof that Jesus was a radical is also the central premise of Christianity. This is the main event. Without the Resurrection Christianity is foolishness, Paul tells us (see 1 Corinthians 15:12-14). Point to Ponder: God wants to resurrect you in some specific way. Verse to Live: “You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth….He is risen! He is not here” Mark16:6 Question to Consider: What area of your life needs resurrection right now? Prayer: Jesus, unleash the power of your resurrection. Resurrect the area of my life that most needs it today. Matthew Kelly
