Please note that Mass on Tuesday, 1st May

at 1.00pm is the Good Shepherd Mass to

which children from all the schools in the

deanery are invited. Bishop Robert Byrne will

be presiding. There will be no additional Mass

at either St George or OLQP on that day.

Parishioners are welcome to attend the Good

Shepherd Mass. Please check the Mass

EMBRACE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

CO-ORDINATOR

My name is Chris Watkins and I have taken

over from Jane Bamber as Community

Development Coordinator at Father Hudson’s

Care. My role in the Worcester Diocese is to

encourage a sustained, community led

response to engaging with older people that

are lonely and isolated. I would like to invite

you all to the Forget-me-not Friendship group

which will be held at Our Lady Queen of

Peace Church on Thursday 17th May at

10.30 am to 12 pm after Mass. There will be

tea, biscuits and a warm welcome. I would

also invite anyone who is concerned about

themselves, or someone else who is isolated

or alone in the parish, to contact me for

confidential support.

I would also like to let you know that the three

Parishes will be organising an ‘Our Amazing

Place Community Treasure Hunt’ on

Saturday 7th July. There will be three events

held around our Lady Queen of Peace; St

George’s Church and Primary School; and St

Joseph’s Church and School. The ‘treasure’

will be the wonderful people, buildings and

open spaces of the Parishes. If you want to

get involved in the organising of this event,

please let me know, everyone is invited to

take part. The first meeting will be at 7pm on

Tuesday, 8th May at St George’s Parish Hall.

I will be speaking at all Masses next weekend

6th/7th May. I look forward to meeting you all.

YOUTH ACTIVITY BAGS Over the next few weeks there will be some activity bags for young children available at the back of church. Each bag will have some books, pens, appropriate colouring activities and the 'Look' youth sheet. Please can we ask that these are returned to the back of church after each mass and that parents oversee the children using these so that they stay in good condition for as long as possible and so as many children as possible can use them. Thank you

MESSAGE FROM CAFOD

Thank you for your support to our Lent Fast Day appeal. Donations to

CAFOD until 12 May will be doubled by the UK Government. We have planned a £5 million programme to combat malnutrition - and with it we hope to be able to reach 245,000 people. But we need the full amount of match funding to make it happen. You can help us reach the full amount needed for this crucial programme. We still have some way to go yet! To donate please go

to cafod.org.uk/lent

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY A coffee morning and sale will be held in St George’s Parish Hall on June 23rd to raise funds for Friends of the Holy Land.
