What is cork?Cork is an ecological material of vegetal origin, derived from the bark of the cork tree (Quercus Suber), a noble tree that grows in the Mediterranean regions, mainly in Portugal.The cork can be used as a raw material 100% natural, 100% reusable and 100% recyclable extracted from cork oaks with-out ever harming the normal development of the species and without damaging the tree. In every 9 years we can re-extract cork from the same tree, which, in a process of environmental renewal, regenerates again.

O que é a cortiça? A cortiça é um material ecológico de origem vegetal, provenien-te da casca do sobreiro (Quercus Suber), uma árvore nobre que cresce nas regiões mediterrâneas, sobretudo em Portugal. A cortiça pode ser utilizada como matéria-prima 100% natural, 100% reutilizável e 100% reciclável extraída dos sobreiros sem nunca prejudicar o normal desenvolvimento da espécie e sem danificar a árvore, Em cada 9 anos podemos voltar a extrair cortiça da mesma árvore, a qual, num processo de renovação ambiental volta a regenerar-se.

Combustão lentaA lenta combustão da cortiça torna-a um retar-dador natural do fogo e uma espécie de barreira contra os incêndios. A cortiça não faz chama e não liberta gases tóxicos durante a combustão.

Slow combustionThe slow combustion of cork makes it a natural fire retardant and a kind of barrier against fires. Cork does not flame and does not release toxic gases during combustion.

Antistatic and hypoallergenicCork does not absorb dust and prevents the ap-pearance of dust mites and therefore contrib-utes to protection against allergies.

Antiestática e hipoalergénicaNão absorve o pó e evita o aparecimento de ácaros e, por isso, contribui para a proteção contra alergias.
