Turkish Children and Adolescent Girls
Great leader Atatürk’s biggest battle began after founding the Republic of Turkey.
He had a vision to advance the newly founded, extremely poor and uneducated Republic amongst the most civilized Nations.
Atatürk believed that to achieve his goal, the most important and most productive task was EDUCATION!
He specifically emphasized the education of women and said “We shall not catch up with the modern world if we only modernize half the population."

In 2010, we changed the lives of many underserved Turkish children and adolescent girls.
Some were able to attend school and some others were provided with warm coats and yearly school supplies.

Emine is a 14 years old female student from Şanlıurfa, Turkey. She is in 9th grade.
Adalet is an 18 years old college student from Şırnak, Turkey. She is studying Childhood Education.
Esma is a 10 years old female student from Şırnak, Turkey. She is in 4th grade.
Zuleyha is a 10 years old female student from Mardin, Turkey. She is in 5th grade.
Vesile is a 14 years old female student from Cizre, Turkey. She is in 9th grade.
• The number of our scholarship recipients increased from 14 to 18
• 1 of our scholarship recipients graduated from college
Özlem is a 22 years old college student from Diyarbakır, Turkey. She is studying Turkish Literature.

Hatice Altundağ graduated from college in Spring 2010 with a Philosophy degree. Currently, she is preparing for the government exam to
become a certified teacher.
