The block diagram of the thermal Test Power Receiver (TPR-THERMAL-15W)
is identical to the block diagram of Test Power Receiver #MP1B.
CONFIGURATION
The dual resonant circuit of TPR-THERMAL-15W is identical to the dual resonant circuit in Test Power Receiver
#MP1B, except that:
• The Shielding is thermally coupled to the mounting box top cover.
• A thermocouple (type K, Wire Gauge 40) is attached to the top cover recess interfacing with the Shielding.
The assembly is mounted inside an enclosure, such that the distance from the bottom face of the Secondary
Coil to the outer surface of the box—the Interface Surface—is 2.5 mm. The material between the Interface
Surface and the Secondary Coil consists of (the stereo lithography material) HMPU6, or a material having
equivalent thermal and magnetic properties. The top cover of the enclosure acts as a heat sink and consists
of aluminum. The dimensions of the top-cover recess that is thermally coupled to the Shielding are 53×36×7.5
mm3, and the dimensions of the top cover part facing the outside of the enclosure are 130×70×2.2 mm3. The
top-cover recess makes physical contact with the Shielding and is provided with thermal paste to ensure good
thermal contact. In addition, the top-cover recess contains a hole in which the thermocouple is inserted, with
thermal paste ensuring good thermal contact. See Annex A.9 for a sketch of TPR-THERMAL-15W.
OPERATING POINT
TPR-THERMAL-15W operates at a rectified voltage of 12 V at a resistive load of 9.6 Ω.
