Ergonomic, tactile and striking in its simplicity, fashion jewellery brand Cayoo might be only a debutant, but its creator, Thomas Prantl, cuts something of a dash on the jewellery scene. Formerly Swarovski’s vice president, innovation consumer goods, Thomas has expanded and applied his ex-pert knowledge of materials and their functionality to create Cayoo, his own brand three years in the making which features collections of pioneering waterproof fashion jewellery. Even more arresting than the brand’s near-immediate entry into a variety of retail forms are the Cayoo products themselves. This is jewellery that eschews metal: Swarovski Elements are set in gleaming plexiglass and held, as if floating, for fully waterproof and durable sparkle. “Stones falling out is one of the biggest problems in fashion jewellery – and the fact that pieces aren’t waterproof. I thought ‘what can I bring to the market? How can I solve this problem?’” Thomas Prantl outlines. And the Cayoo brand was born.The design is inspired by the smooth, organic shapes of round pebbles – ‘cayoo’ mimics ‘caillou’, French for pebble. The Swiss company is based in Geneva, design and manufacturing of the lovingly finished products is entirely made in Europe. The products are made with Swarovski Elements and Cubic Zirconia and next to being waterproof, they are also allergen free and UV-resistant.Cayoo offers today a variety of retail packages presenting changing seasonal colour themes. The products come in sizes S,M and L to meet customer expectations. Thomas has already developed his own branded open-sell concept, enabling customers to fully engage with the tactile products prior to purchase. The unit itself is smooth and polished, continuing the brand message of pared back brilli-ance. “We also use see-through packaging, which is quite unique,” he adds.

The pebble bangles mark the start into a new product category of Cayoo. The colour scheme becomes

more varied, but still highly iconic using white, lemon, red, chocolate and black. The packaging takes on

its lemon colour and helps to communicate the uniqueness of the developing brand.

Lena is a talented 15 year young designer, who grew up in an international background with a close affi-

nity to Swarovski crystal. Lena chose the vivid pattern of bubbles to create a totally new style of blending

the variety of crystals and trend colours. With the unique Implexions Technology, a truly unique design is

possible as the crystals are floating in clear plexiglas and are waterproof, protected against wear and tear.

This is the first collection that Lena developed together with her dad.

The iconic pebble shape makes a bold, yet lightweight ring. Each piece is shaped by laser cut tech-nology and expertly polished by hand, thus creating a unique play of light and colour. 9 brilliant-cut Swarovski Zirconia stones are playfully handset to create the signature caviar pattern. Zirconia is a jewellery stone with brilliance close to a diamond, which is brought to life by the mastery of Swa-rovski high precision cutting. Each zirconia stone is inserted into its own setting, before being care-fully placed in the Caviar ring. The rings come in 3 sizes, providing a perfect fit for everyone.

Cubic Zirconia stones are cut from crystals grown in a laboratory. They do not occur in nature. Cu-bic zirconia is the best diamond simulant available; its appearance is almost identical to diamonds. Furthermore, the chemical and physical properties of cubic zirconia are very similar to diamonds. Cubic zirconia has slightly less brilliance (sparkle) than diamonds, but much greater fire (flashes of rainbow colors). Cubic zirconia is a relatively hard stone of excellent durability which makes it ideal for use in gold, platinum and silver jewelry. Since the 1980 Swarovski is cutting Cubic Zirconia in its famed high precision cut and is widely used in jewellery for its outstanding effect and beauty.

After a successful start into travel retail last fall, the iconic Bubbles Bangles are now available in 3 classic colours such as pearl, doré and taupe, stylishly highlighted by mysteriously floating Swa-rovski crystals in matching soft, yet glamorous tones. Matching pendants, as well as key/bag charms are also available in the Cayoo shades. The product range consists of wide bangles (EUR 99) and small bangles (EUR 79), pendants (EUR 59) and charms (EUR 49) in a heart shape, round planet style or new butterfly motive.
