INTRODUCTION
Coal Bed Methane• Natural gas found in most
coal deposits
• Unconventional Gas
• Created from buried plant material which was converted to coal by the pressure of being underground
• When the coal seam is drilled and the water is pumped out, the gas begins to flow
• Usually pure or ‘sweet’ gas and requires little processing
CHARACTERISTIC
• Clean burning- fuel
• Cheaper energy source
• Reducing global warming
• Friendly environment

CAN THE TARGET OF THE ROAD MAP CAN BE ACHIEVED ???
• Produksi ‘Sweet Spots’ dengan permeabilitas reservoir yang tinggi merupakan faktor utama dalam pengembangan CBM terutama di daerah seperti San Juan Basin di USA dan cekungan batubara Queensland di Australia
• Saat ini, reservoir batubara yang belum dikembangkan memiliki permeabilitas yang rendah dan dalam beberapa kasus terdapat reservoir batubara dengan permeabilitas yang tinggi dalam jumlah yang banyak di sekelilingnya
• Penelitian pada reservoir dengan permeabilitas rendah diperlukan untuk mendapatkan potensial gas yang lebih banyak dan mengikat sumber pada infrastuktur yang sudah ada dan sedang mengeksploitasi ‘sweet spots’
