Character Festival, enabling people to experience

Gain appreciation for the beauty and art of Chinese characters.
See how Chinese characters are integral to the everyday and to the
arts.
Chinese characters are not only the core of the Chinese language, but
are also the core of Chinese culture.
Encourage people to study Chinese characters, and to foster creativity
through Chinese characters.
Come to know Chinese culture through new perspectives.

NYU Teachers’ Forum
Pre-Event
The level of mobilization students get from their
teacher is the most Significant Factor for the
success of CCF. Will Present CCF plan in the NYU
teachers’ forum on May 10th, so teachers who
participate this forum can get a grasp about the
event, and be able to dispatch the activity flyer to
their students as one of students to-do list in
summer vacation.

Another fun and easy group activity for New
Yorkers, of all ages and backgrounds, to make
their own Chinese greeting cards with Chinese
word/character stamps. Once finished and happy
with their postcards, they can keep for
themselves or mail to their loved ones.

A fun and easy group activity for New Yorkers, of
all ages and backgrounds, to learn to write
simple Chinese calligraphy on their very own
NYCCF postcards or paper fans. Once finished,
they can take a photo with their work and upload
onto the festival website.
