Page 2: CC2124 CONTENTS OBJECT THE FIRST TIME YOU PLAY · OBJECT Ask clever questions to guess your opponent’s mystery character before they guess yours! THE FIRST TIME YOU PLAY 1. Carefully

LET’S PLAY!The youngest player goes first, and players take turns asking a question.

On your turn:1. Ask a yes or no question about your opponent’s

mystery character. For example, you could ask, “Is your person wearing glasses?” Your opponent must answer either “yes” or “no.” For an added challenge, don’t ask if your opponent’s mystery character is male or female until the third turn!

2. Based on your opponent’s answer, flip down faces on your gameboard to eliminate characters. For example, if your opponent says their mystery character is wearing glasses, flip down all the faces that are not wearing glasses.

3. You are now one step closer to guessing your opponent’s mystery character! Now it’s the next player’s turn to ask a question.

Guessing the Mystery Character:When you think you know who your opponent’s mystery character is, make your guess on your next turn instead of asking a yes or no question. But don’t take a guess until you’re ready—if your guess is wrong, you’ll lose the game!

WIN!If you correctly guess your opponent’s mystery character, you win! If you guess incorrectly, your opponent wins!

CHAMPIONSHIP SERIESChallenge your opponent to a series of games! Every time you win a game, slide your scorekeeper up one point. The first player to win five games is the GUESS WHO? champion!

HOW TO BE A GOOD GUESSER! Look carefully at the GUESS WHO? cast of characters on the gameboard. What makes them similar or different? Do you see things like hair and eye color, big or small noses and mouths, facial hair, and accessories? Pay attention to these details to help you decide the best yes or no questions to ask!

GET READY!1. Choose a gameboard and flip all the doors open by

tipping the gameboard away from you, then set it on a flat surface, with the scorekeeper and mystery card slot nearest you. Your opponent does the same.

2. Shuffle the mystery card deck. Then, have each player choose one card from the top of the deck and place it in the mystery card slot on their gameboard. Make sure your card faces you so that your opponent doesn’t see it!

3. Place the rest of the mystery cards to the side. They won’t be needed again until a new game starts.
