EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE
“Dear church family, Ann and I would like to
thank you for your love and the special
recognition to the both of us. Our lives will
continue to serve God and to serve you. We are
blessed to be part of this church family. We love
you!” David and Ann Johnson
Tonight we resume a very special study — our Reading Through the Scriptures class. If you were never able to be a part of this study when we
had it going last year, I hope that you will consider joining us tonight. We will be looking at the book of 1 John, reading it all the way through, as it was meant to be read when it was penned by the apostle John, without stopping for commentary. At the end we will have a time to discuss what we heard, but the focal point of this study is simply letting God’s Word do the talking. If you would like to join with us, please follow the Zoom link below at 7:00 p.m. tonight:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84037214679
We look forward to seeing you there!
Registration for Camp Hensel is now available! The deadline to sign up is March 21. If you would like to attend, please take a moment to fill out the form below:

We are so excited for this amazing Easter retreat! If you have any questions, please let me know!
FROM MICHAEL
From the Preacher’s Desk
“Reaching Out”
I have a book in my office titled, “Go Ye means Go Me” by author Ivan Stewart. It’s a book with over 400 pages on the topic of evangelism. It gets its title from the KJV translation of Mark 16:15-16 which says, “Go ye into all the
world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Contextually, Jesus was speaking to eleven men when He said these words, which really begs the question: “What did these men think?” Jesus Christ was asking them to go and preach to the whole world; now, granted the world didn’t seem quite as large to these men, as it does to us today, that request was still rather daunting. Some might have even argued that it was impossible. Imagine for a moment that Jesus was to ask eleven people today to do the exact same thing. Would we think to ourselves, “There’s no possible way!” or would we utter the words of Paul in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
In Paul’s second letter to the people of Corinth, he gave us a glimpse into the minds of those Christians who were trying to fulfill God’s desire to preach and teach. He said in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” What we need to realize is that even though Christ was talking to eleven men when He said, “Go into all the world…” He was also talking to each and every one of us today. Take a look at
Art Nowlin is scheduled to begin radiation
treatments on his liver soon...James Davis, father
of Joe Davis, remains at a short-term rehab
center...Bob Westfall, nephew of Nita Fry, has
been diagnosed with cancer...Continue to pray
for our members in nursing facilities.
2 Corinthians 4 again, except go back a few verses. 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 says, “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” While some assume “earthen vessels” is just another way of saying jars of clay…I think it goes beyond that. I think Paul is linking us, Christians today, with those first eleven men who were told by God to go into the world. We are witnesses to the knowledge and glory of God through the Word, and we carry that as we go into the world.
2 Timothy 2:2 says, “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” Its been almost 2000 years since Christ walked the earth and gave the command to seek and save the lost, yet, the command is still as
powerful and needful today. Without people reaching out to those in the world, the Kingdom of God cannot and will not grow. 2 Corinthians 4:5, “For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.” The whole month of March our focus is going to be on the topic of evangelism. We will look at why we share the truth and how we share the truth. Most importantly, we must understand that Christianity is not just about saving ourselves, but about sharing the truth so that others can be saved too. Someone showed you the way…are you willing to do the same for another? God bless! David Olmos
