What is an Expert?

• Expert: “Someone widely recognized as a reliable source of knowledge, technique, or skill whose judgment is accorded authority and status by the public or his or her peers.”

• Domain: The scope or bounds of expertise

– Such as the CCIE Blueprint

• Is able to generate a mental simulation of a task

• Can formulate and utilize decision trees to complete tasks

CCIE Collaboration Lab Exam Overview

• An 8-hour, hands-on, 100-point lab exam; candidates must score 80 or above to pass

• Candidate builds, troubleshoots, and optimizes a collaboration network to supplied specifications on a provided collaboration equipment rack

• Physical cabling is done. IP routing protocol, and WAN are preconfigured

• Unified Communications applications are installed, with some pre-configuration of basic tasks, such as device registration and baseline application integrations

– Remote control via E-Tel application

– E-Tel is run from Student PC to Enable Audio Redirection

E-Tel – Remote Phone Control

• All Phones must be registered before running E-Tel

• HQ and BR1 Phones – Associated with user Grade

• BR2 Phones – Run script on Student PC

• Configure IP Addresses of Phones in E-Tel

– Click “Use Now”

– Click “Set as Default”

– Phone reset may result in IP Address change – update E-Tel if communication is lost when testing SRST/Mobility

• Phones are power cycled from TermServ
