Walkin’ the Dog at Canine CommonsComing to Cross Creek Ranch is a new park specially designed for our four-legged residents - Canine Commons. Canine Commons will feature nearly one acre of fenced dog park separated by areas dedicated to larger and smaller breed dogs. The park’s amenities will include a covered pavilion with tables and lighting, benches, drinking fountains, a wash-down area for dogs, an entry plaza and gated entries all complimented by native landscape to create a beautiful, functional space for Cross Creek residents - and their canine family members - to enjoy.
Canine Commons will be accessible to residents via sidewalks and trails connecting to Cross Creek Ranch neighborhoods. The park will also feature a parking lot to accommodate both vehicles and future facilities expansion.
Construction on Canine Commons will begin this summer. The park is scheduled to open in September 2012. Now that’s news to howl about!2 July 2012

Sculpt & Core - Saturday 9am—10amSculpt your body with an assortment of strength training exercises that will tone and work every muscle in your body. Instructors teach you weight training basics while whittling away your midsection.
Total StrengthA strength and conditioning class that combines total body movements with the added resistance of dumb bells. The combination of hand weights with high reps will get your heart pumping and increase lean muscle mass.

Cross Creek Ranch’s new Lifestyle Director is on board and ready for fun. Robin Mitchell brings a wealth of experience as the Lifestyle Director for Tuscan Lakes and is ready to plan a whole host of activities for Cross Creek residents.
“It is my job to coordinate enjoyable events and fun, exciting activities that help residents stay active and meet new people - right in their own neighborhood,” said Robin. “There will be numerous activities throughout the year to participate in including clubs, themed block parties, special events, exercise classes as well as planned trips.”
According to Robin, none of these activities would be possible without input from the residents. “I would love to hear from you!” said Robin. “What type of events and activities you would like to see?”

Meet Your Fitness & Lifestyle Team!April Zieschang has been a member of the Cross Creek Fitness team since June 2011, and in just one year, she has fallen in love with the Cross Creek Ranch community. Starting August 1st, April will be the new Fitness Director for the Cross Creek Ranch fitness center under the new management company
Risher Fitness Management. With a BS in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from Texas Woman’s University, April is passionate about providing healthy lifestyle programs. She is currently seeking her Cooper Certification for Personal Training, and when asked about her fitness philosophy, April replied, “I believe in the power of preventative exercise. Being proactive rather than reactive when it comes to a healthy lifestyle is truly the best medicine.”
In April’s role as Fitness Center Manager at Cross Creek Fitness, she prescribes personalized exercise programs and counsels individuals of all fitness levels on appropriate lifestyle modifications. She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and is a part of its “Exercise is Medicine” initiative.
In her spare time, April enjoys spending time with her family, her husband Kevin, and running with her boxer pups Lilo and Stitch. Next time you’re in the Fitness Center, be sure and say hello to April!

Originally designed and developed by Trendmaker Homes, Cross Creek Ranch opened in Spring 2008. In 2011, new home sales in Cross Creek Ranch placed it as one of the top 20 best-selling master-planned communities in the United States. Most recently, the west Houston community was recognized as Houston’s 2012 Master Planned Community of the Year by the Greater Houston Builders Association.

Moreover, Houston currently stands at the top housing market in the United States as measured by new home starts.
