Context Hong Kong offers a specific context in hybrid synergy between Tradition-Modern, West-East in a highly urbanized society. The principal objective of the project is to map the emerging signals of sustainable lifestyle in the specific local context of Hong Kong and investigate the implications on design for social innovation.

Project a set of research strategies are defined and taken up, including 10 case studies, 6 expert interviews, 3 field researches and seminars.

Design Role the research found that “Design Thinking” has been widely recognized and discussed beyond of design communities as a new drive or approach to trigger innovations in different fields in Hong Kong. HKDI would take the lead in vocational training on “Design Thinking”, leading education of social innovators as a hub.
