CCTV Survey Report
Client: Chrome Services Limited
Date: 31st, July, 2017
Weather Condition at time of Survey: Dry
Prepared by Andrew Barlow
Site: Chapel Hill, Longridge, Preston, PR3 3JY

Date: 31/07/2017
Report Summary:
Following our receipt of your order and as requested our engineers attended site to carry out a
CCTV survey of the drainage lines from the manholes of interest (see plan) to check their
condition, location and connectivity.
Once on site our engineers carried out a CCTV survey from Manhole-1(SWMH-1 marked on
plan) downstream to Manhole-2 (SWMH-2 marked on plan). The CCTV survey established a
number of large displaced joints, large cracks, fine roots and encrustation at some of the joints.
We recommend to undertake an excavation over the defective section of pipework and replace
with new pipework, we also recommend High Pressure Water Flailing/ Root Cutting in order to
clear the drainage line of any roots, encrustation and debris. we also recommend to install 5 x
225mm patch liners within the defective section of pipework to ensure the maximum flow of
water can be discharged downstream and also to eliminate any future root growth at certain
joints.
Our engineers then carried out a CCTV survey from Manhole-1Branch Line-1 Upstream to
Head of Line. Unfortunately the survey was abandoned at 4.0 meters due to what we believe to
be a work boot blocking the drainage line which we believe to be leading into a buried manhole.
The CCTV survey also established a number of large displaced joints within the drainage line.
We recommend to undertake an excavation to a maximum depth of 1.5 meters from manhole-1
Branch Line-1 the over the defective section of pipework to the buried manhole and replace
with new 225mm pipework. We also recommend to undertake an excavation over the buried
manhole in order to expose its cover and gain access. Once access has been gained we
recommend to clear the manhole of all debris and provide a manhole condition report, once the
manhole condition has been established a quotation will be provided to raise the frame and cov-
er to ground level.
Our engineers then carried out a CCTV survey From Manhole-1 Branch line-2 Upstream to
Head of Line. Unfortunately this CCTV survey had to be abandoned at 3.2 meters as our
engineers were unable to continue to push the gully camera due to it snagging on something.
We recommend to undertake an excavation from Manhole-1 Branch Line-2 over the defective
section of pipe work and replace with new pipework, whilst the excavation is open a resurvey
will be required in order to establish the drainage lines full condition.
Our engineers then carried out a CCTV survey from Manhole-3 Branch Line-1 upstream to head
of Line. This CCTV survey established a change in pipe diameter at 3.5 meters in which our
Micro Gully camera was unable to pass. Due to the nature of the drain we do not recommend
any further work at this present time.
Our engineers then proceeded with a CCTV survey to Manhole-3 Downstream to Discharge,
This CCTV survey established a number of large displaced joints, fractures at joints,
encrustation at joints and a large amount of silt/debris build up. We recommend High Pressure
Water Flailing in order to clear the drainage line of any encrustation and silt/debris build up, and
to install 3 x 150mm patch liners within the defective section of pipework in order to ensure full
flow as water is being discharged.

Report Summary:
The following report highlights our findings on site, and where necessary we have put forward
recommendations for repairs to be carried out on the drainage system. We have colour coded
the proposed repairs within this report according to the severity of the defect identified/urgency
of the repair. Green=No Defects Yellow = Caution, Red = Urgent.
Please find below our summary of the survey, along with the detailed survey log sheets,
indicative plan of the drains and a manhole condition report.

growth. Backfill the excavation and reinstate to match the existing surface finish (unmade)
We recommend to install 5 x 225mm Patch Liners within the defective sections of
pipework from Manhole-1at 1.8 to 2.8 meters, 57.0 meters, 60.4 meters, 65.0 meters and 2 at 73.0 to
75.0 meters.
The cost for The excavation is £2480.00 Plus VAT.
The cost for 5 x 225mm x 1.0m Patch Liners is £3200.00 Plus VAT.
The cost for High Pressure Water Flailing/Root cutting is £150.00Plus VAT.

The drain surveyed is a circular 225mm diameter vitrified clay pipe transporting surface water.
The below observations have been made:
0.0m - Water level, 10%
0.2m - Line deviates right 45°
0.5m - Large displaced joint, on deviation
0.9m - Line deviates left 45°
0.9m - Large displaced joint
1.4m - Large displaced joint
3.2m - Large displaced joint
4.0m - The survey was abandoned, buried manhole with possible collapse, work boot blocking
entrance to it.
We recommend the below work:
Trace and locate the buried manhole (at 4.0 meters fromManhole-1). Undertake an excavation to a
maximum depth of 1.5 meters over the buried manhole in order to expose the cover and gain access.
Once access has been gained we recommend to remove all debris and provide a full report on our
findings (ie contents, condition, usage, connectivity, depth, shaft size and pipework diameter size) ,
once established a quotation will be provided to raise the frame and cover back to ground level.
The cost for the excavation is £920.00 Plus VAT.
We recommend to undertake an excavation to a maximum depth of 1.5 meters over the defective
section of pipework from 0.0 meters at Manhole-1 Branch Line-1 to 4.0 and replace with new
225mm pipework (allowing up to 4.0 meters of pipework to be replaced). Backfill the excavation
and reinstate to match existing surface finish (Unmade).
The cost for the excavation is £995.00 Plus VAT.
