A nomination form is attached to this notice. The nomination form shall be signed by two persons entitled to nominate or vote (that is, a Level D or Level E member of academic staff) The nomination must be submitted electronically to the Executive Officer (Academic Senate), Miss Ingrid Pulley ([email protected] ) no later than 5:00pm Monday 11 February 2019.

Subject: Nomination Notice for the Election of Members of the Professoriate to the Academic Senate

Following the review of academic governance structures and processes in 2018, a new Governance (Academic Senate) Rule 2018 was submitted to the University Council, and approved, to take effect from 1 January 2019.

Adoption of the Rule necessitates that all Senate appointed and elected positions are declared vacant. Elections are required for the following positions:

Six members of the Professoriate (Level D Associate Professor and Level E Professor), to be elected by the Professoriate.

Nominations are invited for the election of six members of the professoriate (at least one of whom must be research active at the time of their election) to the Academic Senate. The term of office for the elected members will be from 6 March 2019 and ending on the day before the first meeting of the newly constituted Academic Senate held after 30 June 2021.
