chance to compete in various national gamesand sports events in the country;

(b) whether it is a fact that the system ofselection of players in various States by theirrespective games or sports association is totallytainted and leads to all forms of favouritism;

(c) whether Government have found away to upgrade such systems of selectionsin various States;

(d) if so, the details of the upgradationdone to select the best sportsmen and talentfor all games in the country; and

(e) the details of steps proposed toimprove the system of selection of sportspersons?

Permission for All Punjab Games

Lack of communication by SAI

(a) whether due to reportedmismanagement and lack of communicationby Sports Authority of India (SAI), theIndian fencing team being denied entry inthe Asian Fencing Championship to be heldin Malaysia in July, 2005;

(b) whether it is a fact that Indian teamwas given rigorous training by a foreigncoach engaged by SAI and an amount ofaround Rupees five lakh was spent at thecamp organised at Imphal; and

(c) if so, the reasons for which the abovementioned Indian team not participating atAsian meet?

Youth festival in Venezuela
