November 2011 Cebu 2 You Greetings from the island of Cebu. We are expecting a busy November as we begin to prepare for the excitement of the holiday season. STREET KIDS MINISTRY We have taken a step of faith and reached out to some hardcore kids who live under a bridge and sniff glue all day. To our amazement, we now have 18-20 kids singing action songs, memorizing Bible verses and hearing God’s Word every week. We have offered them a chance to bathe and are giving them free haircuts. We are looking for used clothing from our members so that when they bathe they don’t have to put on dirty clothes. THE Flooring We have finally finished the painting of the new deck in our church. It is “Jade Green” and is beautiful and seems to resist dirt buildup which is the problem we had with the first paint that we used.

Pastors and Workers Conference 2011
We recently completed our 5th Annual Pastors and Workers Conference. Our theme was “The Joy of Serving” based on Philippians 4:4.
We had 88 paid delegates and about 7 additional evening visitors after working hours.
Our workshops covered Biblical Counseling and Disciplines of Godly People focusing on the Disciplines of Devotion and Leadership.
I had the honor of sharing the opening session on Philippines 1:1-11 which I titled “The Joy of the Journey” and I taught the Disciplines workshop as well as being the MC for the 5th year.
Christmas Programs
Our church wide theme this year is “Rejoicing in His grace and Mercy” based on 2 Corinthians 12:9.
Each ministry will have its own small celebration and the entire church will come together for a major celebration at Barangay Hall on December 18th.
In addition, we will have a special celebration for the street children and their friends.
We will also do caroling as a way of evangelism for 2 nights.
Moving to 2 Services
As announced in our last newsletter, on November 6, we will begin 2 services on Sunday. At 8am Pastor Gerry will teach the book of Matthew and at 10am I will begin the Book of Jeremiah.
Pray for our transition as we will have 2 sets of ushers, 2 sets of Sunday school teachers, and other adjustments.
