Dear AIESECers, It’s a great pleaseure to be the one who can write you the welcoming words of CEELDS 2015. I’m Fanni CCP of the conference which purpose is to inspire a sustainable leadership pipeline and prepare you for your future leadership roles. I believe that CEELDS 2015 will be one of the most memorable conferences of the year and I guarantee on behalf of the Conference Team that we will do our best to fulfill your needs, provide you with the chance of feeling unstoppable and you will get the power to start the summer period as never before. AIESEC in Hungary is honored to announce that CEE LDS 2015 is taking place in our country, from 5th – 9th of May 2015. CEE LDS is an annual regional conference of AIESEC in Central and Eastern Europe gathering young leaders from all over the world at one place. For one amazing week the strongest leaders of the local entities will come together to discuss, share experiences and move our region forward. The conference will also strengthen the bonds between CEE region countries and help widen our horizon to see the bigger picture. The main aim of the conference is to connect the CEE region, develop its leaders and prepare for a successful summer peak together. The main agenda is going to be from 6th to 9th May. Events of the Conference: • Study Tour – 3rd – 4th May • Youth to Business Forum – 5th May • Gala Dinner – 6th May • Hungarian Special Night – 7th May • Global Village – 8th May
As the first and biggest Local Committee in Hungary, Budapest University is delivering quality experiences since 1972. During the 43 years Budapest University managed to grow and develop year by year and prove its relevance in the CEE region as top 5th Local Committee. Throughout this journey of continuous learning we have not forgotten our past and could keep many traditions and customs alive, which ensure the cultural unity of Budapest University and bound us to our long past. We always strive for excellence and provide professional and valuable services to all our stakeholders.
For this term we planned altogether 441 exchanges. Our focus programs are iGIP and oGIP. During the following year we would like to grow both in the quality and quantity of these two programs to ensure professional experience and increase the amount of internship programs. Our membership counts more than 100 enthusiastic AIESECers, which requires us to put more emphasis on improving our Team Member and Team Leader programs, thus give more and more people the chance to live the AIESEC experience and become conscious leaders of the future.
It is an honour to be the host LC of CEE LDS 2015. This conference contributes to providing quality international experiences, which is one of our main focuses this year. Openness and cultural diversity represents a great value for our Local Committee.
Hungary Hungary is a country at the heart of Europe. While not large in terms of population Hungary has a wealth of culture and history of 1000 years, complemented by a language so completely different from its neighbors that almost no shared words exist. Hungary is situated in the low, flat area of the Carpathian Basin, with a gently undulating landscape of hills and plains, and it features one of the largest continuous grasslands in Europe. It deserves the nickname "land of waters", as it holds the largest lake in Europe (Lake Balaton) and is crossed by mighty rivers which divide and define its regions. Hungary is known for her famous engineer Ernő Rubik who invented the Rubik's Cube, for Franz Liszt, for being the land of thermal water, for its spicy cuisine and for several other things that make Hungarians proud to live here. VENUE - Keszthely The conference will take place in a hotel at Lake Balaton. The "Hungarian Sea" is one of Hungary's most precious treasures and most frequented resorts. It is also the largest lake in Central Europe. Keszthely is known as the "capital of Balaton", but many people mention it as "the city of memories". Festetics palace is the symbol of Keszthely, which is the 4th biggest palace in Hungary.
Strudy Tour and Youth to Business venue - Budapest Budapest is the most visited tourist destination in Hungary giving home to more than two million people. Budapest is the capital and the largest city of Hungary. With a unique, youthful atmosphere, a world-class classical music scene as well as a pulsating night life increasingly appreciated among European youth and, last but not least, an exceptionally rich offering of natural thermal baths, Budapest is one of Europe's most delightful and enjoyable cities. Due to its scenic setting and its architecture it is nicknamed "Paris of the East".
