What to do, schedule changes for July 4th holiday By Thomas Zimmerman 01 July 2018 July 4th Local events June 28- July 8 – Carlisle Summerfair 2018- For 40 years, Carlisle Summerfair has been providing family friendly events at no cost to the public around the 4th of July holiday. It features great events like open pool nights, concerts, musicals, kid’s activities and an ice-cream social. Check out the schedule to learn more. July 3- Carlisle, Pa Fireworks at 9:45 p.m. at Carlisle Fairgrounds, 1000 Bryn Mawr Road, Carlisle. (Rain date: 9:45 p.m. July 4.) Any cancellation will be announced at 5 p.m. the day of the fireworks. July 4 - The City of Harrisburg will host the Taste of Independence Food Truck Festival & Fireworks show along Riverfront Park from 3 pm – 9 pm. This one-day event features live music, delicious food, activities for children and the largest fireworks show in Central PA!
