Celebration of Life for Albert “Al”, “Bone” Ramsey
Albert Ramsey was born January 31, 1932 to the late Carrie Ruth Fouch and Willie
Ramsey in Lincoln County, GA. He was the 4th of their 5 children: Floyd Edward (Mattie
Ruth), Ruby Irene (Hollis Rucker, Sr.), Jerry Clarence, Sr. (Bobbie) and Robert, who all
preceded him in death. He departed this life on December 24, 2019.
Al volunteered for the US Army and served from 1951 - 1954 with the 1st Calvary
Division in Korea. He received several medals including a Purple Heart for being
shot in battle.
After discharge, he lived in Washington, DC with Uncle Luther “Boot” Fouch
and later in Atlanta with Uncle Robert “Trick” Fouch. After marrying Ocie Williams,
he continued to live in Atlanta, GA and later moved to College Park, GA, and finally
to Oxford, GA.
He retired from General Services Administration (GSA) in 1991 and continued work-
ing for his son’s company, We Wash Trucks Kleen for 18 more years until his health
failed. Al’s favorite activities were: fishing, hunting, watching sports, playing cards,
talking on his cell phone, and listening to his favorite gospel group, The Suwanee
Quintet.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ocie Mae Williams Ramsey; their children:
Romel Ramsey Wadley, Alan Ramsey, Larry Ramsey; grandchildren: Rachael Wadley,
Nia Ramsey, Christian Wadley, Larry Ramsey, Jr.; great grandchild: Jai Taylor and god-
son Tim Askew. He is also survived by a special friend, Ivory Jeffries and a multitude
of nieces, nephews, including Yvonne Fleming, Charvone “Cha Cha” Heard and
Albony “Junior” Fleming, who continually checked in on him.
We are appreciative of the 87 years he had with us. “To be absent from the body is
to be present with the Lord.”

Poem
“God has not promised skies always blue,
flower-strew pathways all our lives through,
God has not promised, sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
But God has promised strength for the day,
rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
unfailing sympathy, undying love.”
