The CEMARLIGNE Series LL 1000 Loom Laser isa low cost alternative thread-break detection sys-tem which uses laser and microprocessor tech-nology to provide a versatile method of protectionsuitable for any type of weaving application.

Thread breaks are detected by sensing smallchanges in the receiver light level. The time inter-vals, when the broken thread is detected by thetransmitted beam, are synchronized with the laymovement so that the system can reject false sig-nals (i.e. flying insects, dust, etc.)

A valid signal, as interpreted by the DataProcessor software, generated an alarm signalwhich can be used to stop the loom. All functionsof the Data Processor are user programmable.

Up to two lasers can be installed on a loom to provide complete coverage in all critical points: the whiproll, back shed, front shed or on the lay. Several types of receivers and optics make it possible for thenew system to cover looms from 2 meters to 24 meters in width. The LL1000 system can work withlow speeds of 120 rpm to fast looms of 600 rpm.

The new electronics used in the LL1000 system have improved performance which can detectthreads as low as 30 microns. At the same time, the system is immune to ambient light variations ofany kind. The receiver can support vibrations up to 14 mm amplitude at the sensor surface.

Due to these features the LL 1000 Thread Break Detection System is able to cover more types oflooms and weaving applications at a reasonable price.

The LL1000 System offers lasers in two options for ease of mounting and adjusting :

A. 90° Mounting BracketType BR 205-90

• Ideal for small loomsup to 5 m (15’) wide

• Easy to install• Easily adjustable beam

For mounting flexibility, the laser can be placed onthe left or on the right of the bracket (as shown inPosition2), and it can be rotated after vertical axis orhorizontal axis to adjust the laser beam position onthe receiver (as shown in Figure 2).

The lasers are compact, integrating solid statediodes, 600 to 800 nm wavelength. The 90°Mounting Bracket weighs only 0.1 kg (0.22 lb).

The LL 2000 Loom Laser System with 90° Mounting Bracket can be installed in any position becauseof the mirror periscope.

Optical power is less than 1 mW. Optics with different focal distance can be interchanged to specifi-cation.

Using the Micrometric Adjusting Bolts, the position of the laser beam on the receiver can be easilyadjusted with a precision of 1-2 mm (0.04 to 0.08 inch).Optical power is less than 1 mW. Optics with different focal distance can be interchanged to specifi-cation.

The radiation emitted by a laser may cause damage to the human eyes.Power Off before connecting the laser to the data processor and avoid electrostatic discharge.
