hoppers, with a cross beam for crane or fork-lift truck or with a cross cutter for slitting big bags, are available to upgrade the unit.
A rocker device has also been developed for easier emptying of big bags. This uses a number of “boxers” to loosen bulk materials that have a tendency to bridge and form blockages at the inlet area. Smooth running can be ensured by an impactor – electrical or pneumatic – and, if necessary, cell meters or gate valves can be used for even filling of the conveyor.
One hundred per cent dust-proofing is guar-anteed by the “Premium” loading unit with its pneumatically inflatable sealing collar, double bellows, integrated filter unit, height adjustment by electrical winch, closure cone, filling level indicator and innovative control system. As an option the BULKup, including accessories, can also be supplied in a stain-less steel version.
Available in two sizes
Two alternatives are available depending on the delivery volume required: BULKup BU 135 with a conveying capaci-ty up to max. 25 m3/h and a drive power of approx. 3 kW or BULKup BU 200 with a conveying capacity up to max. 60 m3/h and a drive power of approx. 7.5 kW.
Test, lease or buy
The design combines outstanding economy with high Schrage quality. The series production also ensures very competitive pricing. If preferred, the BULKup can also be leased instead of purchased. The electrically driven system can also be tried out under real operating conditions at the customer’s own business or at Schrage’s technical centre in Friedeburg.
The BULKup in comparison with other systems
The market in general offers a number of different technol-ogies for bulk handling – but these are mostly screw or belt conveyors.
In contrast to these systems, the new BULKup also allows very fine free-flowing products to be conveyed at a 45° angle. Extremely high reverse flow of the product can be expect-ed at such a delivery angle with screw conveyors while bulk transport on an open conveyor belt is even worse. With the BULKup the bulk material is not agitated in the individ-ual chambers between the conveyor discs so there is no segregation of mixed products during transport, and thanks to the low chain speed the product is also treated very gently.
All important aspects at a glance
The mobile BULKup is an efficient loading aid that can save time, reduce logistical costs and minimise operating and per-sonnel costs. Other advantages are its quick and economical start-up and high level of availability. No adaptations or con-version measures are required at the loading location itself. The conveying system can be set up at any desired location with a 400 V connection.
The BULKup is also characterised by its low-noise and almost maintenance-free operation and low power consumption. It is only necessary to check the chain tension and the wearing parts at intervals. Other advantages are its easy and safe han-dling and accident-free and reliable operation, even by one person, as well as the long service life, excellent price/per-formance ratio and the enormous shortening of transfer and loading times. It also minimises the risk of accidents when loading toxic or explosive substances.
The conveying system is delivered fully assembled in a con-tainer by truck or sea freight.
The BULKup is ideal when bulk material has to be handled and short conveying distances have to be bridged with a quick, simple, inexpensive and mobile solution. 3
Figure 3: The BULKup transports nearly all types of bulk solids gently and safely
Figure 4: The BULKup can be equipped with various feed hoppers for sacks and big bags or filling by wheel loader
