One way to measure the Nation’s diversity is to combine both Hispanic Origin and Race

• White Not Hispanic

• All other race and Hispanic or Latino groups

• Still the largest population group, but it’s growing slowly

• 19901990: 188.1 million or 76% of the total population

• Up 6.4 million -- an increase of 3% since 1990

• 20002000: 194.6 million or 69% of the total population
