From The President NORTHERN MIDLANDS R&SLA Sub Branch

In 1914 the First World War commenced with intense fighting in Europe and continued

through to November 1918.

A significant event took place during this conflict on the 25th April 1915

The landing of allied forces on the Turkish peninsula at GALLIPOLI

One Hundred years have passed and we have commemorated the dedication and the sacrifice of

our servicemen, the ANZAC’s, during this particular event ever since.

The result of this assault on the Peninsula was not one of victory but it established the

ANZAC’s as one of the most formidable fighting forces the world had ever seen. Because of

the determination to succeed and never give in attitude shown by our servicemen at this time

they were held in awe by their allies.

April 25th 2015 marks the centenary of the landings and throughout Australia there are many

Commemorative events being held to honour those who served.

The NORTHERN MIDLANDS R&SLA Sub Branch are proud to be able to present this con-

cert in honour of the ANZAC’s, our servicemen and women who have served the country then

and in the many conflicts since.
