-Spring Break
Dear Centennial Families,
I am very ready for March and Spring!!!! We have had quite a dose
of winter weather this season! I am very proud of our students. You will see at conferences that your children are working hard and learn-
ing a lot. Just a reminder we have Parent Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, March 5th and Thursday, March 6th. If you have not
returned the purple slip to your child's teacher to confirm your confer-ence time, please send that in to them. Our goal as a staff is to meet
with 100% of our families!
Third grade students have completed their Reading TCAP this month.
We only had one absence due to an illness, which is a huge celebra-tion. Below is the schedule that shows the rest of our TCAP dates.
Please make sure that you do not schedule appointments during these times if you have a child taking the assessment. Most of the assessments will be completed by lunch time, with the exception of
3rd grade on March 18th and 20th. Their session is in the afternoon. Thank you for your support with having your kids to school here on
time during these testing days.
3rd Grade - March 10th, 11th, 18th, 20th
4th and 5th Grade - March 10th - 21st
Here are the March ideas for ways to help raise your child's self-
esteem:
1. Paint a wooden birdfeeder together. Then sit and watch from the window as the birds fly over to enjoy your efforts this Spring.
2. Laugh at your child's jokes - even when you don't get them!
3. Resist the urge to say "I told you so."
4. Always say good-bye before you leave. Sneaking away may make
your child distrustful or sad.
Thanks to Eddie Daly, a parent at our school, and our PTA, Centennial is excited to introduce a
new program to our school called All Pro Dad's Day Breakfast.
We want to invite all the dads (uncles, grandfathers, or other significant male figures) to join us with your child/children once a month for breakfast, from 7:30 - 8:15 am at Centennial Ele-
mentary. We will be holding a 45 minute breakfast, while enjoying a great program that will help us connect with our children and gain great tips and resources on being great dads. We
will wrap up with some raffle prizes and upon completion of the morning's program we encour-age you to walk your child/children to their classroom. Attendance is free and if you would like to eat breakfast it will be provided at a cost of $3.00 per person. Our first program will be held
Wednesday, March 26th and then on Wednesday, April 16th, with our final program for the
year being held on Wednesday, May 14th.
Our All Pro Dad website can be found online
at www.AllProDad.com/4063<http://www.allprodad.com/4063>. All information, including the location within Centennial where we will be meeting, dates and times, and your RSVP for each specific date can be found on this website. Upon submitting your RSVP, when you reach the
section that is titled "How many will be attending?" please type in BREAKFAST in the message to leader section so we have enough food prepared for those wanting to eat. We feel that this
is a great way to celebrate and involve our dads (or special male figures) here at Centennial. For further information, please contact Eddie Daly at [email protected]. Can't wait to
see you there!
Our school carnival will be held on March 21st. We hope to see you there!
I hope to see you all at our upcoming events.....conferences and the carnival!
Best Regards,
