Project Goals
• Goal 1: Implement the infrastructure of CEL within 90 days.– Make hiring decisions and
convene a governing body within 30 days.
• Janice was hired in October• First Advisory Meeting was
held October 26, 2004
– Prepare the center, set up the program structure and install equipment within 60 days.

Project Goals• Goal 2: Execute the plan to
develop Peer Mentors from the 3rd through the 12th quarters.– We will utilize the skills and
background of Peer Mentors to provide advocacy training to emerging leaders and youth. *Revised from 15 to 10 Peer Mentors.
• Justin, Rebecca, Lucas, Lisa, Jennifer all hired and began work in January 2005
• Jennifer left CEL in December, 2006• Chris began working in January
2006• Lisa Left CEL in March, 2006• Kyle and Briana were hired and
began working in May 2006• Jesse was hired and began working
in August, 2006• Justin, Lucas, and Rebecca left CEL
in August 2006• Ruben began working December,
2006• Jesse left CEL April, 2007• Lucas re-hired in April, 2007
Project GoalsGoal 2: Continued• Collaborate with People First within the
1st quarter.
• Peer-Mentor individuals. Goal: Provide direct services to at least 50 emerging leaders and 10 youths with developmental disabilities and their families in the areas of employment, education and community living.

the 3rd to the 12th quarter. A minimum of 300 community members will hear Peer Mentors speak during the project.

• 49 Presentations Delivered
Project Goals• Goal 3: Disseminate information
about the CEL project for duplication throughout the country during the second through twelfth quarters of operation. – Create a Brochure during the 2nd
quarter. With input from the Advisory Committee, we will develop a brochure that describes the philosophy and services of CEL. Brochure finished and printed May, 2005 (3rd quarter) 1500 brochures were mailed out to schools, colleges and community agencies (100 packets with 15 brochures each) additional brochures were printed and given out at presentations.
– Create a Youth-Friendly Website during the 7th quarter. Website Live: July 2005 (3rd Quarter)
The website has been visited 12,465 times- not including visits in Sept, 2007)
– Create a Training Manual during quarters 10-12. We will post the manual on the website with appropriate links. Peer Mentor Training Guide Completed by Janice and Natacia July 2007
