OMED Endowed Department Chair $25,000
This endowment is for the purposes of providing OMED with discretionary funding (i.e. an unrestricted endowment) to maximize the department’s flexibility in meeting pressing,
ever-changing, and ongoing needs, as well as providing support for new initiatives.
Endowment funds provide support for OMED in perpetuity, the fund may carry the name of the donor, or an honoree, of their choice. The minimum amount to establish an
endowment at Georgia Tech is $25,000.

OMED Career Pathway Program
for Black and Latinx Students
$5,000 per student, 3 student

The Office of Minority Educational Development Career Pathway program is designed to advance the employability of Black and Latinx students in STEM fields, with particular
consideration for a post-pandemic economy and job market. Sponsoring a student through this program will include a $1,500 stipend, will assist the student with the development of a custom professional online profile, will provide travel grant assistance to a professional
conference, will provide the student with a dedicated professional mentor, as well as housing, supplies and amenities for a 3-week mini-mester immersion program. The focus
of the program is to provide professional development for diverse candidates and expanding employer relations with diverse talent pool through direct access with
corporate, alumni, and professional education representatives.

OMED Academic Support & Study

This sponsorships provides academic coaching, tutoring, and advising support for students through virtual platforms designed to address the increased isolation and inequities URM
students may face amid extended virtual learning and remote instruction. The 12 hourovernight access to academic resources right before the final examination period
establishes a welcoming academic network and has been critical to students’ success.

OMED Academic Empowerment
Scholarship Fund$50,000
This fund will provide financial support for 3rd-5th year Black/African-American students. While OMED has aided in attaining 90% or above first-year retention rates for URM
students, 4th year and 5th year retention rates are a renewed focus. Several students run out of funding in their 4th and 5th year of matriculation. This fund will provide financial and
programmatic support to these students, enhancing the projection of persistence to graduation.

An interactive day-long series of sessions and a Faculty Seminar designed to address career and post-graduate discernment, opportunities, and preparation,

info sessions are conducted with direct engagement between academic professionals, alumni, corporate reps and diverse undergraduate students. Students establish an academic and professional network through this event that is sustained

OMED Peer-i-scope $7,500
Peer-i-scope is designed to help acclimate over 50 Achieve Atlanta Scholars (students from Atlanta public high schools) and ~75 incoming graduate and
transfer students to the academic and cultural environments at Georgia Tech. The goal of the program is to introduce students to the vast resources available in addition to networking with fellow incoming peers. By establishing networks
of accountability beyond the classrooms the retention to graduation rates and persistence of students of color are enhanced by 5-10% compared to their
counterparts
